Club member has the following problem & wondered if anyone has answer?

Here is my problem which has manifested itself in the last year or so.

I have a Rover 75 Connoisseur SE CDTi Tourer 2002. I have discovered that I have a continuous current drain of between 2 & 3 amps whilst the vehicle is parked up, locked and every thing else is off. This means after a period of 12 - 18 hours the battery is getting discharged and on the odd occasion is too discharged to start the engine. According to the Haynes manual for the vehicle I have tracked the drain so far as the circuits thru the 50A fuse FL3 in the engine fuse box under the bonnet. Removing the smaller fuses in the engine fuse box does not highlight the fault. Unfortunately this fuse supplies a number of circuits via the main fuse box under the glove box, short of removing the fuses one by one associated with the feed circuit to find which particular circuit is causing the problem I am at a loss. I am a qualified professional electronics engineer so I have been able to track the problem so far and have checked to ensure that no circuits appear live when switched off. Everything appears to function on the vehicle, lights, central locking alarm imobilser etc. I have a tow bar fitted and as far as I can tell this is not the source of the problem as the separate live feed does not affect the drain. The reason for asking is in case anyone else has had a similar problem and therefore will help in resolving the problem quickly.
When I know I am leaving the car for a period I have to carry a spare battery just to jump start the vehicle need be, a pain in the proverbal so to speak.

The car has been the best I have had, great for towing economical and a far better finish than than any Ford I have had.
